1. After reviewing the text (Infotext), point out the role of the fact, that Kraków had become a monarchy.

2. Who is responsible for bringing Renaissance ideas to Kraków? (Infotext)

3. Describe how the number of the envoys taking part in Sejm and their competences were changing.

4. Why were Sejmy summoned? What were the main purposes of summoning the Sejm? (source material 1)

5. Did the growing importance of the noble gentry influence, in your opinion, the situation in the Polish state? If so, was their influence negative or positive? (source material 1)

6. What kind of issues should the Polish Parliament deal with nowadays. Explain your choice.

7. Write an oath taken by the subjects to their king. Prepare the oath in two versions:

7a. an oath which, in your opinion, the King would like to hear from his subjects; and

7b. an oath the subjects themselves would like to take.

8. With your classmates, prepare a short staging of Zygmunt I Stary’s oath in the Kraków Market Square.

9. Using the information text and the (source material 2 and 3), enumerate the events witnessed by Kraków citizens.

10. Which of the events would you like to witness? Explain your choice.

11. Make a collage about the event you consider to be most interesting.
